“The Master’s Sun” – Will Seo Hyo Rim Pose a Real Threat to Seo Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin’s Love?

In last night’s episode of SBS TV’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Master’s Sun” (4th September), actress Seo Hyo Rim made her first appearance in the series as the fiancé of Joo Joong Won (Seo Ji Sub), Park Seo Hyun. Her appearance has pushed Seo Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin’s relationship, which had previously been developing without a hitch, into crisis territory.
During the episode, Joong Won’s aunt, Joo Seung Ran (Kim Mi Kyung), says to her son who is about to leave on a business trip to China, “Meet with the daughter of the owner of Se Jin Conglomerate who we’ve mentioned before as a prospective bride, Park Seo Hyun. At the moment, where is she studying?” In order to placate his aunt, who is continuously worried about his relationship with Tae Gong Shil (Gong Hyo Jin), Joong Won carries through with her suggestion.
After arriving in China, he returns with Seo Hyun to Korea. Oblivious to the situation, Gong Shil giddily runs down to welcome to Joong Won, , but instead meets Joo Seung Ran who says to her, “You will soon meet CEO Joo’s new fiancé,” abruptly transforming her giddy excitement into panic. To add insult to injury, Joong Won brushes coldly past her seconds later, with Seo Hyun on his arm.
Earlier in the episode Joong Won had saved Gong Shil from having her body possessed by a ghost, showing his true feelings for her with an “Emergency Shelter Kiss”. So although their romance had been developing smoothly, Park Seo Hyun’s arrival has thrown an unexpected obstacle into their path. Impatient viewers can’t help asking, will she influence their love?
